Refurbishing!

Hello everyone! Jolly Goblin here, I am so excited to share with you some updates coming to Kingdoms Abound! 

First off, let me say, thank you to everyone who downloaded the game! I posted this game just as a challenge for myself to make something last summer and I was blown away to see how many people were interested in trying it out! And to see that some of you are downloading it to this day, and a couple of you left reviews?? It is beyond anything I could have imagined. 

Speaking of those reviews, thank you to those who left them! I loved receiving your feedback, and I want to listen! So I am posting a few updates today. The biggest of those being: I am giving the game a makeover and update! When I posted this game, I had to limit myself to a double-sided piece of paper for the 1 Page RPG Jam of 2021. This meant that the font had to be super tiny, and I had to use stock art to make the game stand out. However, now that I know that some of you are interested in this game, I have decided that it needs to look better than it does! 

Now, how am I "refurbishing" the game, you might ask? Well, recently I opened and started my small creative business: The Jolly Goblin Inn! Using the same name that I have here on Itch, I have started a small business that I will be using to make some pocket money as I go through post-secondary. Through this business I will be posting character art, comics, art prints, stickers, t-shirt designs, magnets, pins, table-top roleplaying games, and even adventures for a couple TTRPG systems (including D&D 5e, Root the RPG, Monster of the Week, Quest RPG, and more!) All updates can be found on my Instagram @thejollygoblin, where I will also be accepting commissions once I have built up a following. Outside of Itch I am an aspiring comics artist who has a head jam-packed with story ideas that are screaming to be told, and one of those stories is this game: Kingdoms Abound. Using my art skills I will be creating a small zine-like game book for Kingdoms Abound, with a fresh new look to the original game, and expanded rules for world-building with friends, wars between kingdoms, and how to craft an awesome story about your kingdom over the course of many eras. 

This update is going to take a while to finish, and I have only started to outline the book and create sketches of all the art I hope to include. However, I have set a goal for myself to finish the update and bring you a full new book by early September 2022. This update will have a set price to it to be paid, but I will be keeping this original version Pay What You Want, as a preview for anyone looking to purchase the full version. I am so excited to share with you all what I have in store!
